The Spot is only open on certain days, at certain times. But when it is open, you'll find wonderful hosts who serve up interesting conversation, the best cup of coffee in town, and terrific food and drinks.
For lunch, The Spot offers a light menu that includes paninis, salads (the cobb salad comes highly recommended), and a 'build-your-own' pita, all of which use fresh, high-quality ingredients. I ignored all of these in favor of the burger, and I wasn't disappointed. The juicy, certified angus beef masterpiece was so good I practically inhaled it. And afterwards, I enjoyed a strong and delicious cappuccino.
At night, the menu, and the atmosphere, changes, offering a limited menu of finely crafted, old-school tapas like chorizo frito con pan (fried Spanish sausage with bread) and a combination of manchego cheese and proscuitto.
For drinks, the shots are the specialty here, but so is the Gaviota, or 'Seagull,' the house cocktail made with vodka, gin, lemonade, and ruby red grapefruit juice.
