Overview of Mai Moana Island

MAI MOANA ISLAND is not a hotel. It is a small private island where the owner has lived with his family for 15 years. The owner has built his home on the island in addition to three bungalows where he receives tourists who wish to spend a few days in his company in this small special world which is his motu.

All our bungalows are located close to the waterline. In this paradisiac setting, completely different from your everyday life, you will discover all the comfort you need. There is hot water heated by a solar energy system and electricity provided by a generator. The generator works only between 7.00am and 8.00am and in the evening between 6.00pm and 10.00pm, yet there are battery lights in the bungalows so you can have your light when you need it.

Our bungalows are spacious and consist of a bedroom, a dressing room, a bathroom with hot water and a terrace. They are also equipped with a television-set.

In the morning we will serve breakfast consisting of tea or coffee, fruit juice, bread, butter and jam.

If you have chosen full-board, you will be served a tropical lunch; we call it tropical as it is light and simple - a homemade pizza, a hot sandwich, a salmon tourte... A fruit or a dairy dessert to finish your meal.

Dinner is composed of an entrée, a main dish and a dessert. We serve mainly fish (mahi mahi, tune or salmon) but also meat and poultry.

The menus are always chosen and prepared by us. We must depend on the provisions available which are often limited. If you have dietary restrictions, let us know in advance and we will try to take it into account.

We can serve you the most popular aperitifs: whisky, pastis, martini or gin. We have also some wines: a bordeau, a côtes du Rhone, the rosé de Provence, a Muscadet.

Brion H. wrote about Zoni Beach (Playa Zoni):

"It takes longer to get here, so it's less crowded, and just as good as Playa Flamenco (without the food and restroom options). We took a taxi to get there ($15 each way). We actually spent most of our time past the rocks on the west side. Playa Brava looks too far to walk from here, but Playa Larga Beach looks reachable.
