Overview of The Beachfront Resort

A tropical setting on 6 acres with 150 metres of absolute waterfront lawns and gardens, for Luganville`s only true beach side resort located just 2 kms from town and only 15 minutes from the international airport. Far enough out from town to avoid the noise but close enough for that early business appointment, adventure trip or scuba dive.

Beachfront Resort offers excellent accommodation over-looking the sheltered waters of Segond Channel and Aore Island.

Their fully licensed restaurant, The Coolidge Bar & Grill, provides first-class food from both their regular and black board menus plus a selection of cold beers and wines all enjoyed in relaxed Melanesian style surroundings overlooking the swimming pool, lawns and ocean.

Their bungalows are self-contained, air conditioned and include ceiling fans, ensuite, refrigerator, kitchenette, mini bar, insect screens plus toaster and tea/coffee making facilities.

The Lodge is available for the budget conscious traveler or groups visiting the tropical paradise. A continental breakfast, served in the open nakamal or around the pool is included with all tariffs.

Activities include adventure tours to custom villages, ride a horse along a tropical beach, scuba dive on the world's most accessible ship wreck, the SS President Coolidge, snorkel the pristine reefs or an aquatic American WW2 equipment grave site, trek through exotic jungle, hire a car and experience the island, putter around on a scooter, visit coconut plantations and blue holes, paddle a dugout canoe down a pristine river, visit WW2 wrecks, paddle a kayak to another island and explore, trek through a cave and float down a river, grab a rod and catch a big fish, take a scenic flight in a sea plane, lay back and enjoy a champagne sunset cruise around the islands or laze by the pool soaking up some rays the atmosphere.

The latest attraction is the range of two person Zego boats, twin hull for fun and stability and fitted with 30 hp outboards. These crafts are great for a high speed 'spin' around Segond Chanel or explore the rivers and coastline.

Their ADSL wifi has coverage in most areas of the resort allowing easy access to your email and for keeping up-to-date with the internet and Facebook. Enjoy a local Tanna cappuccino or latte or a cold drink whilst on line in the open nakamal with plenty of power outlets to save those precious batteries.

In their restaurant, they have the famous organic beef and seafood thus supporting Ni-Vanuatu fishermen, farmers and families and reducing the need for imported goods.

Vera H. wrote about Boiling Lake:

"This is rated as a difficult/strenuous hike. It's about 7 hours round trip. There are a lot of steep steps going up & down. I consider myself to be mildly in shape. My quads were definitely burning going up the steps & my knees grumbled going down the steps. I was able to make the entire hike but I did have to stop a couple times to rest & catch my breath. It also rained during our hike which made the steps muddy & slippery. I slipped on the hike back & tweaked my wrists, so be careful! There was one person in our group that had to stop before they got to the Boiling Lake, their legs started cramping up. But we saw a bunch of younger kids just running up the steep steps and they didn't even look tired. Definitely take a guide with you on this one. Our guide showed us where to get the sulphur mud to put on our faces & arms like a mud-mask. He even boiled us some eggs in the hot pools! Also, take a couple changes of clothes (rain jacket, long sleeve shirt, bathing suit & a towel). It was VERY windy in some spots & after it rained on us, it didn't feel good to be cold & wet. But we did get to soak in the warm pools on the way down, it warmed us up & got us relaxed. Made it hard to continue on the hike, haha. I only recommend going if you are in decent shape & not afraid of heights.
